The article describes a regional project launched in 2015 to develop and promote four main ring trails in the Treviso foothills, designed for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. These routes, part of a larger network linked to the European E7 path stretching from Portugal to Romania, showcase the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Marca Trevigiana area. The four highlighted trails include the Sacred Mountain and huts route around Grappa, the Cesen path with views of Feltre peaks and the Venice lagoon, the Visentin ridge trail featuring alpine refuges, and the Cansiglio forest circuit through ancient woodlands.
Following a year-long selection process, the regional authorities approved a map of 12 ring routes, five of which lie between Treviso and Belluno provinces. The project now moves into the signage phase to guide visitors and indicate amenities such as refreshment points and accommodations, including facilities for horses. The final step involves multilingual promotion to attract diverse tourists and stimulate local businesses like horse farms and bike rentals, aiming to boost sustainable tourism and economic activity in the region.
