Victorian breeders have a lot to look forward to in 2025, with three new Group 1 winning stallions announced for Victorian studs following the success of local stallions at the recent Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. These stallions have impressive racing resumes, having competed in races like the Breeders’ Cup Mile, the National Stakes, the Australian Guineas, and the Manikato Stakes.
Yulong’s More Than Looks, a son of More Than Ready, is one of the new stallions joining the Victorian roster. More Than Ready has produced numerous stakes winners and Group 1 winners, making him a highly sought-after sire of sires. Yulong is excited to see what More Than Looks can achieve in Victoria, given the success of Written Tycoon mares bred with More Than Ready.
Rosemont Stud is also contributing to the Victorian breeding scene by standing Dubawi’s son Henry Longfellow, a Group 1 winning two-year-old with an impressive pedigree. Henry Longfellow’s dam, Minding, is a multiple Group 1 winner, adding to his appeal as a stallion prospect. With investments from studs like Rosemont and Widden Victoria, Victorian breeding and racing are in a strong position for the future.
