Evelina Shrieve won two advanced medium titles at the NAF Five Star Winter dressage Championships on her horse, Terry. Despite Terry’s small stature, the pair has risen from novice to inter I in just over three years together. Evelina began her dressage journey while working for the Thurman-Bakers during a summer break from her psychology studies at Loughborough University.
Evelina now trains with Samantha Thurman-Pickett and has her sights set on grand prix. She has also launched a podcast called That’s Lame with Joanna Thurman-Baker, aiming to foster a sense of community and encourage mutual support among riders. Evelina believes it is important for young professionals to diversify their careers and consider other options alongside riding.
Evelina is passionate about rider mental health and has become a mental health and wellbeing support mentor for BD. She hopes to run her own yard one day and produce other horses. Evelina emphasizes the importance of considering equine welfare in relation to rider mental health and believes that young professionals should follow their interests and skill sets outside of riding.
