The Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) held its annual awards on 15 November in Melbourne, recognizing outstanding achievements from the 2024–25 competition season. A highlight was the Level 2 Overall Champion Rider award, won by Erin Anderson, president and founding member of the Narrandera Adult Riding club in NSW, riding her horse “Adventures of Grand Rock.” Despite fewer competition opportunities compared to riders in central and southern Victoria, Anderson’s consistent performance across multiple disciplines earned her the top spot.
Anderson expressed surprise and gratitude for the award, emphasizing the hard work of small volunteer committees that make competitions possible. Reflecting on her journey, she shared how founding the Narrandera club 11 years ago led to unexpected friendships and a strong community across NSW and Victoria, highlighting the sport’s social as well as competitive rewards.
