The Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale is set to feature the first foals from Equinox, the world’s highest-rated horse in 2023, with 25 entries making up 10% of the auction catalog. The sale will take place at the Northern Horse Park in Hokkaido on July 14-15, showcasing the anticipation surrounding Equinox’s debut crop, which includes foals out of notable North American champions like Caledonia Road and Midnight Bisou.
Among the impressive lineup are colts from American grade 1 winners such as Mucho Unusual and Grace Adler, as well as a colt from Reine Minoru, the 2017 Oka Sho winner. The catalog also features a colt from Flightline’s second crop, highlighting the strong lineage present in this auction. Other prominent sires represented include Kingman and Frankel, with their progeny also drawing attention.
In addition to the foal sale, a yearling auction will precede it, featuring a catalog of 233 yearlings from group/grade 1 winners worldwide. The sire profile includes renowned names like Bricks And Mortar and Candy Ride, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection for buyers.
