Troy Roberto, a 55-year-old equestrian trainer and horseback riding coach from West Milford, New Jersey, has been charged with multiple offenses including sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of child sexual abuse materials. Authorities allege that Roberto sexually assaulted a 16-year-old teenager and exchanged explicit photos with the victim multiple times in December 2025 in Mendham Township. The case came to light after the teenager reported the inappropriate behavior to authorities earlier this month.

Roberto was arrested on March 10 in Atlantic County, where he was also found in possession of six Xanax pills without a prescription and 36 rounds of ammunition, leading to additional drug and weapons charges. He remains in custody at the Morris County Correctional Facility awaiting a court hearing.
