Equestrian Canada (EC) has announced its 2026 National Team Program (NTP) High Performance athlete lists, designed to support Canadian equestrians progressing through the Long-Term Equestrian Development framework. The program aims to provide technical and tactical experience to increase international podium success, aligning with EC’s high performance strategies and funding partners like Sport Canada and the Athlete Assistance Program. The NTP categorizes athletes into squads based on performance criteria, including Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MER) and codes of conduct.
The 2026 squads include the A Squad with top athletes like Jessica Phoenix and Mike Winter; the B Squad featuring riders such as Diana Burnett and Waylon Roberts; and the U25 Development Squad aimed at emerging talent like Sarah Legear and Dakota McGill. Detailed criteria and full athlete lists, including horse owners and hometowns, are publicly available through EC’s official resources.
