Elsie England Wins Top Prize at 4-H Horse Costume Contest with Creative Road Construction Theme

At the Otoe County 4-H Horse Show in Syracuse, judge Corrane Moss praised the creativity and uniqueness of the horse costume contest, highlighting Elsie England’s entry as the standout winner. England’s horse, Blaze, was dressed in an elaborate costume featuring road barricades, flashers, and road signs, impressively tolerating the heavy and unusual decorations, including a hard hat with a “hold your horses” sign.

England explained that while the idea was inspired by something she saw, she expanded on it by adding more elements to the costume. She also noted Blaze’s calm demeanor in wearing the outfit. The judge and audience were impressed by the originality and execution, making England’s costume the top purple winner of the contest.
