El Paso County Fair Celebrates 120 Years with Decade-Themed Events and Thrilling Entertainment

El Paso County recently celebrated the 120th anniversary of its county fair with a vibrant, multi-day event that honored its rich history through themed decades, ranging from the early 1900s to the present day. Festivities included a potato bake-off, horse races, and various decade-specific activities such as a Houdini-style magic show, roaring 20s speakeasies, 1950s carnival games, and a 90s karaoke party. The fair also featured traditional elements like a junior livestock show, rodeo with the Pikes Peak Rangerettes, and a sold-out demolition derby that showcased first responders and thrilling vehicle races.

In addition to the nostalgic celebrations, the fair offered diverse entertainment including alpacas and llamas, arts and crafts, and unique performances like Mad Chad’s chainsaw juggling and the Las Vegas-based Thrill Extravaganza, which featured daring acts such as a blindfolded run on a spinning wheel and a human cannonball. The event also highlighted community involvement, with 4-H participants receiving awards for culinary creations and the 2025 County Fair Queen, Madison Finlay-Wagner, engaging guests and leading rodeo activities. Seasonal staff expressed enthusiasm for the fair’s lively atmosphere and the joy it brought to attendees.
