The Eastern Idaho State Fair announced the 2025 Friend of the Fair Awards, honoring Val and Gail Chambers, Steven Butler, and Donnie Wheeler for their exceptional contributions to the fair and community. Val and Gail Chambers have long supported 4-H and FFA programs, fostering youth development and agricultural traditions. Steven Butler, honored posthumously, served 20 years as a friendly and memorable Gate Person, while Donnie Wheeler, also posthumously recognized, was a lifelong horseman and announcer known for his work with Indian Relay Races and dedication to western heritage.

These awards, the highest honor from the fair, celebrate the honorees’ dedication, service, and impact on the Eastern Idaho community. The ceremony will take place during the fair from August 29 to September 6 in Blackfoot, themed “Saddle Up!” More details are available at funatthefair.com.
