Dubai Municipality has launched Hatta’s first sand equestrian track, stretching 2.54 kilometres long and three metres wide, designed to offer a safe and scenic riding experience amid the region’s mountainous landscape. This initiative, part of the Supreme Committee to Oversee the Development of Hatta’s comprehensive plan, aims to bolster Hatta’s status as a premier tourism and leisure destination while supporting Dubai’s broader goals of expanding tourism, economy, and trade through world-class recreational facilities.
Beyond its appeal to horse riders, the track is expected to stimulate local economic growth by attracting investments and fostering small and medium enterprises in sectors like equestrian sports, retail, hospitality, and tourism. According to Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, the project not only preserves Emirati horsemanship heritage but also enhances Hatta’s tourism potential, offering both amateurs and professionals a unique, safe riding environment with panoramic mountain views. The track exemplifies Dubai’s commitment to diversifying leisure options and improving quality of life.
