District 9 4-H Horse Competition Results and State Qualifiers Announced

The District 9 4-H horse competitions took place from September 5-9 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, featuring top participants from eight counties including Clarion, Crawford, and Erie. Competitors must place in the top three or four in their county events to advance to districts, and similarly from districts to state competitions. Participants work year-round with their 4-H project horses, maintaining detailed records of care, feeding, and training goals. They compete in various disciplines such as English, western, ranch, driving, miniature, and timed events.

Notable results include Leah Chase placing 3rd in Western Pleasure (ages 8-13) and qualifying for state, Morgan Kaltenbach securing 1st in Western Horsemanship (ages 8-11) and multiple state qualifications, and Katie Sweeney winning 1st in Bowtie and 2nd in Poles, both state qualifying. Other competitors like Mattison Johnson, Daisy Sheldon, and CeAura Thompson also earned state qualifications in their respective events, showcasing strong performances across a range of age groups and disciplines.
