Didia Retired from Racing and Set to be Bred to Nyquist

Multiple grade/group 1 winner Didia, who missed a start in the Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf Invitational Stakes, has officially been retired and will be bred to Nyquist, according to owner John Stewart. The decision to retire Didia was initially mentioned in late December by trainer Ignacio Correas IV, but Stewart clarified that the final decision was pending as she recovered from recent surgery.

Didia, bred in Argentina, became the country’s champion 3-year-old filly of 2021 with two group 1 wins. Resolute Racing became a 50% owner in Didia following a victory in the Pegasus Filly and Mare Turf, and she also had notable wins in the New York Stakes and a third-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Now retired, Didia will be bred to Nyquist, who finished 2024 as the 14th-ranked general sire of the year. Nyquist’s progeny, including Immersive, Randomized, and Johannes, have achieved success at the grade 1 level. Nyquist stands for $175,000 at Darley in Kentucky.
