Four local 4-H members from DeWitt County—Shelby Newman, Kaleigh Newman, Raeann Gloor, and Cinley Kulik—competed at the Texas State 4-H Horse Show held July 22-24 in Bryan. Representing the Cowboy Up 4-H Club, they were the only participants from their county at the event.
Shelby Newman participated in the Stakes Race, Pole Bending, and Barrels events, achieving 14th place in the Stakes Race and 15th in Pole Bending.
