Dental Nurse Hannah Watson to Run Dublin Marathon in Support of Wales Air Ambulance After Life-Changing Accident

Hannah Watson, a dental nurse from Manchester, is preparing to run the Dublin Marathon in October to support Wales Air Ambulance, a charity she credits with saving her life after a severe horseback riding accident in 2017. The accident left her with three brain bleeds, four fractured vertebrae, paralysis on her right side, and memory loss. Thanks to the advanced medical care provided by the air ambulance team, including critical interventions to control brain swelling, Hannah was stabilized and began a challenging recovery journey. Despite being advised not to ride again, returning to her horse Beau has played a significant role in her mental and physical rehabilitation.

Marking her 30th birthday, Hannah is fulfilling a bucket list goal by running the marathon, balancing her training with work and care routines. She has previously raised over £2,400 for the charity through other races and remains deeply grateful for the support she received. Wales Air Ambulance’s regional fundraising manager praised her resilience and dedication, expressing pride in her achievements and gratitude for her ongoing commitment to the charity.
