The Delta Wild Horse & Burro Facility has reopened for private adoption, offering over 200 animals—including approximately 130 wild horses and 70 wild burros—from various herd management areas across Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona. The facility operates Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing visitors the chance to meet animals and complete adoption paperwork on-site with same-day approval.
Managed by the Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse & Burro Program, the adoption initiative aims to place excess wild horses and burros into private care for training and long-term homes. Those unable to visit in person can browse animals and apply online year-round, supporting efforts to preserve these iconic American animals.
