Delaware Park Rescinds Diane Morici’s License Revocation Citing Bankruptcy Laws

Delaware Park stewards have rescinded their earlier decision to revoke Diane Morici’s owner-trainer license due to financial responsibility concerns, citing federal bankruptcy laws as the basis for their reversal. Morici, who filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month with significant liabilities exceeding $500,000, had faced a $116,461 judgment from a major creditor, PetVet Operating. The initial license revocation threatened to shut down her training business and hinder her ability to reorganize financially.

Following the stewards’ reversal, Morici dropped her appeal before the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission, allowing her to continue restructuring her business under bankruptcy protection. Her legal representatives expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting that it aligns with proper legal procedures and preserves her opportunity to recover financially.
