The Dawson County Fair in Lexington ran from July 16 to July 20, featuring a variety of events and activities for attendees. On Saturday, July 19, the fair offered 4-H shows including swine, small animals, cats, rabbits, and poultry, alongside a rodeo, draft horse show, and entertainment such as a clown performance, face painting, bingo, and a carnival with armbands available. Additional highlights included a women-focused event called “It’s Her Turn,” a beer garden, quick-draw caricatures, and live music from Full Denim Jacket.
Sunday, July 20 was Military Appreciation Day, with livestock release and 4-H horse shows in the morning. The day also featured a Heartland Chevrolet Show & Shine car show, continued access to commercial and open class buildings, and a Quilt of Valor presentation. The fair concluded with the Sport Mod Summer Series at the raceway and the carnival’s final day, offering a last blast of fun with armbands for rides and games.
