The Dawson County Fair in Lexington ran from July 16 to July 20, featuring a packed schedule of events on its final days. On Saturday, July 19, activities included 4-H livestock shows, a rodeo, a rocket launch, and various entertainment options such as a beer garden, carnival, caricature artists, and live performances. Special events like the “It’s Her Turn” women-focused event and a free pork BBQ with rodeo ticket purchase were also highlights. The day concluded with the Platte Valley Auto rodeo and a late-night concert by Full Denim Jacket.
Sunday, July 20, designated as Military Appreciation Day, featured the release of livestock and exhibits in the morning, followed by a 4-H horse show and a car show in the afternoon. The commercial and open class buildings remained open, alongside a photo booth and the 4-H Café. The day wrapped up with a Quilt of Valor presentation, the opening of the South Beer Garden, a sport mod racing series, and the carnival’s final “Last Blast” event.
