Crimson Acres Equestrian Center Celebrates 50 Years with Open House and Community Events

Crimson Acres Equestrian Center is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an open house event this weekend at its location on Daniel Shays Highway in Orange. Starting in 1975 with just three horses as a family venture, the center has grown to house 50 horses and introduces about 100 new riders to horseback riding annually. The celebration includes activities such as a photo exhibit showcasing past riders, a performance by the Crimson Acres drill team, and a nostalgic Moms’ Coffee Hour event, reflecting the center’s long-standing community impact.

Run by Sandy Whitmore and her family, Crimson Acres has evolved from a small family business into a hub for equestrian partnerships across generations. The Whitmore family, deeply involved in the center’s operations, aims to honor the legacy and influence the center has had on riders over the decades, fostering connections among past and present participants and their families.
