Coolmore has acquired Super Seth, a rising young sire from Waikato Stud, with plans to relocate him to the Hunter Valley later this year. Super Seth, a son of Dundeel, has quickly established himself as a leading stallion in the southern hemisphere, producing multiple Group 1 winners from his first two crops, including two Guineas winners and a champion two-year-old. Coolmore’s Tom Magnier praised the stallion’s exceptional early success and compatibility with Australian mares, acknowledging Waikato Stud and the Chittick family for their role in developing Super Seth into a world-class sire.
Super Seth’s impressive race record includes a 2019 Caulfield Guineas victory, and his progeny have achieved significant black-type success, with several Group 1 wins in Australia and New Zealand. His acquisition by Coolmore places him alongside other top stallions for the upcoming season, while Waikato Stud retains a share and continues to support him. The move highlights a major achievement for New Zealand breeding, with Super Seth’s yearlings commanding high prices at sales, reflecting his growing reputation and impact on the industry.
