Lambourn, known as the Valley of the Racehorse, is a globally recognized hub for racehorse training. Some industry members opposed a proposed plant in the area, fearing that its fumes could harm the respiratory health of racehorses, which is vital for their performance.
In response, Condé acknowledged the differences between equine and human physiology but noted that no specific policy requires air quality evidence focused on equine health. Meanwhile, Mark Drake of Putnam Properties stated that the development has garnered significant support, including backing from some within the racehorse community.
