Community Events in Marshall County: Relay for Life, 5K Walk/Run, and Horse Show

The North Marshall Relay for Life, Laranda Nichols 5K Walk/Run, and Brindlee Mountain Saddle Club horse show are all happening on Saturday in Marshall County. The Relay for Life event has been moved back to Guntersville in an effort to boost attendance and enthusiasm. The event will feature a free concert and will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Laranda Nichols 5K Walk/Run will benefit the Marshall County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the Brindlee Mountain Saddle Club horse show will feature over 60 classes for riders of all ages.

The North Marshall Relay for Life, which began in 1985, will take place at The Harbor in Guntersville and will feature a free concert by the band Spare Change. The Laranda Nichols 5K Walk/Run will benefit Kelley’s Rainbow, Marshall County’s domestic violence shelter, and will start at 8 a.m. at the Guntersville Recreation Center. The Brindlee Mountain Saddle Club horse show will feature various classes for riders and will take place at the club’s arena on Rescue Road.

The Laranda Nichols 5K Walk/Run entry fee is $25 for adults and $20 for children, with online registration available. The horse show at Brindlee Mountain Saddle Club will have an admission fee of $4 per person, with children under 6 getting in free. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, and food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event.
