Coleg Cambria has partnered with British dressage to launch the British dressage Apprenticeship programme in Wales for the first time, expanding its equine work-based learning offerings across north and mid Wales. This collaboration allows learners aged 16 and over to gain nationally recognised qualifications while earning a wage, supported by experienced assessors and British dressage’s additional learning activities. The apprenticeship focuses on dressage but also highlights the broad range of equine career pathways available through the college, which offers flexible apprenticeships from levels 2 to 4 in areas such as horse care, riding, breeding, and coaching.
The partnership reflects Coleg Cambria’s commitment to providing high-quality, industry-relevant training and supports the growing demand for work-based learning in the equestrian sector. It complements the college’s wider land-based apprenticeship programmes, including animal care, veterinary nursing, agriculture, and horticulture. Both institutions emphasize the importance of creating accessible, inclusive routes into equestrian careers, with British dressage expressing enthusiasm for expanding opportunities into Wales and supporting learners throughout their development.
