The 2025 Nutrena PRCA Head Horse of the Year is Clint Summers’ 14-year-old gelding, Mr Joes Shadow Bar, known as Joe. Owned by Clint and Darren Summers, Joe has earned this prestigious title for the second time, having also been the top horse on the PRCA circuit in 2023 and winning the BFI Head Horse award. Joe is a reliable and steady partner for Summers, who has qualified for the National Finals rodeo (NFR) five times since 2011 and surpassed one million dollars in career earnings, much of which is attributed to Joe’s consistent performance.
Other top horses recognized include RK Tuff Trinket “Bob,” ridden and owned by Riley Minor, who placed second, and Espuela Bro “Spur,” ridden and owned by Tyler Wade, who placed third. These horses, along with Joe, will compete in the NFR in Las Vegas, with Summers entering in the No. 4 position. The article also lists winners in other rodeo horse categories such as steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing, highlighting the top horses and riders in each discipline for 2025.
