U.S. Equestrian does not work with clear “squads” like other nations, but instead focuses on the “USEF dressage Program Pathway” which includes Elite, Pre-Elite, Development, Emerging Youth, and Young Horse groups. Following assessments after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, changes have been made to the pathway criteria to set realistic and achievable goals for success leading into the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Starting December 1, 2024, changes to the USEF dressage Program Pathway criteria will be implemented, with new program membership lists expected to be published by May 12, 2025. In 2025, USEF will launch the dressage Training Series, including clinics taught by coaching staff and Coaches Support Network members. Quarterly meetings will also be held to increase collaboration among coaching staff and personal coaches in the U.S.
