In July 2025, the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS will host its inaugural International Training Camp for Eventing, led by esteemed British Eventing High Performance Coach Chris Bartle. This three-day intensive program, running from July 18–20, is designed for international-level eventing riders who have met at least one Minimum Eligibility Requirement at the 2* level or above. For €1,500, participants receive stabling, full board for themselves and a companion, and access to world-class training at the iconic CHIO Aachen dressage Stadium and cross-country course, including sessions on an advanced equestrian simulator, fitness training, theory classes, and video analysis.
The camp emphasizes developing a deeper partnership between horse and rider through Bartle’s proven training philosophy, which prioritizes communication via seat position and body language over hand use. Highlights include technical arena training, individual dressage sessions, and cross-country riding on the official Aachen course (weather permitting), along with Q&A sessions and course walks. This unique opportunity allows riders to train at one of the sport’s most prestigious venues and learn from a coach who has guided Germany to multiple team medals during his 16-year tenure.
