The Chinese community in Ghana celebrated the 2026 Chinese New Year Festival in Accra, emphasizing cultural exchange and strengthening economic ties between the two countries. The event, themed “Year of the Horse,” featured traditional performances, including the Anhui Performing Arts Group’s Huangmei Opera, and highlighted the 65th anniversary of the Ghana–China Friendship Treaty. Leaders from both communities underscored the importance of legal compliance, social responsibility, and mutual respect in fostering long-term business and social relationships. Chinese investments in Ghana’s industrial and manufacturing sectors were praised as key drivers of economic growth, while cultural exchange was described as vital to deepening the bilateral partnership.
Government officials and Chinese representatives also highlighted ongoing cooperation in defense, education, and agriculture. Ghana’s Minister for Food and Agriculture invited Chinese investors to participate in the country’s agricultural transformation, focusing on mechanization and industrial farming as part of Ghana’s broader economic reset. The festival symbolized not only trade relations but also people-to-people connections, reflecting a shared commitment to progress, stability, and prosperity for both nations.
