Chenango County 4-H youth showcased their talents and hard work at the 2025 New York State Fair, participating in various categories including Dairy Cows, Dairy Goats, Sheep, Horses, Poultry, Rabbits, and the Arts. According to Rhonda Turrell, the Chenango County Cooperative Extension Administrative Assistant, all participants performed exceptionally well, earning ribbons and special recognition for outstanding exhibits. The youth’s dedication throughout the year was acknowledged, highlighting their growth and achievements beyond just winning awards.
In addition to animal and project shows, selected 4-H youth had their art exhibits displayed at the fair, providing an opportunity for external judges to review their work and help them develop their skills. Turrell emphasized that the experience fosters learning, growth, and lasting friendships among the youth, underscoring the importance of participation and personal development over competition. Special recognition ribbons were awarded to Maria Funk, Josie Pierce, and Amon Van Alst for their exceptional exhibits.
