Charlotte Dujardin made a strong return to international dressage competition at the Wellington CDI3* event in October, riding Ellie McCarthy’s 11-year-old gelding Brave Heart II to wins in both the grand prix and grand prix special. Despite being a new partnership, their performances were precise and composed, with only a minor error noted. British dressage’s international director, Judy Harvey, praised the potential of Brave Heart and Charlotte’s ability to develop the young horse’s balance and performance.
Since ending a one-year suspension in July, Charlotte has won all nine of her tests with new horses, including Special Effekt and Secret Agent, showcasing her continued dominance in the sport. During her hiatus, her top horses Imhotep and Times Kismet were sold to other riders, but she is set to strengthen her stable further with the return of Alive And Kicking, her grand prix understudy, who is scheduled to compete soon. Charlotte’s comeback highlights her resilience and ongoing influence in international dressage.
