Celebrating Achievement: The 15th Annual RED Arena Round-Up Showcases Equine Therapy Success

The 15th Annual RED arena Round-Up, hosted by the Riding Equines for the Disabled (RED), is set to take place this weekend in Dripping Springs. Founded by physical therapist Jennifer Young, RED arena offers a variety of equine therapy services, including therapeutic riding lessons and hippotherapy, serving over 200 sessions weekly. The Round-Up serves as a showcase for participants to demonstrate their skills and is a significant community event aimed at raising funds for the nonprofit, covering nearly a quarter of its annual budget.

The event features a range of activities, including performances, a barbecue, and a silent auction, with local businesses contributing to the auction items. Attendees can enjoy free tastings and games for children, while food proceeds support RED arena. Special guests include Brian McCoy, a major supporter of the organization, and Reagan Lowman, a former participant who has become a Special Olympics ambassador, both of whom will serve as judges during the event.

Young emphasizes the emotional impact of the Round-Up, particularly for families witnessing their children compete and receive recognition, which can be a unique experience for many participants. The event not only highlights the achievements of the riders but also fosters community involvement and support for those with disabilities.
