The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY, is hosting a free community event on Saturday, February 28th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate 4-H and educate attendees about horses. The day features 20 interactive activities including educational demonstrations, crafts, a scavenger hunt, and a ride on a harness racing simulator. Notable guests include Walter Varco, who will discuss the museum’s articulated skeleton, artist and author June Evers offering drawing lessons and book signings, and Shane Darish presenting on shoeing and training Standardbreds.
4-H members will also showcase demonstrations on topics like hobby horsing, retraining Standardbreds, horse parasites, and training a blind pony. Children can earn tickets by participating in activities to trade for prizes and enter a final raffle, with light refreshments provided. The event welcomes people of all ages to join in the fun and learning.
