Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour Regains No. 1 Spot in World Dressage Rankings

Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the FEI world dressage rankings following strong performances on Mount St. John Freestyle in Denmark last month. Her success helped her overtake Justin Verboomen, who had held the top position for seven months. Cathrine and her 17-year-old Hanoverian mare, Freestyle, previously led the Danish team to a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and earned both team bronze and individual silver at the 2025 European Championships.

The pair had been world No. 1 a year ago before being surpassed first by Britain’s Charlotte Fry and then by Justin Verboomen. With Cathrine’s return to the top, Justin has moved down to No. 2, followed by Isabell Werth in third and Charlotte Fry in fourth. The updated rider and horse rankings are available on the FEI website.
