Horse riders from Sutherland Riding Club, along with visitors from Caithness, participated in a charity trek through Carbisdale forest at Culrain over the weekend. Hosted by the Culrain and District Hall committee, the event featured a traditional stirrup cup before riders followed marked trails and returned to Culrain Hall for refreshments including hot drinks, fresh doughnuts, and tartan rosettes. The youngest participant was four-year-old Ciara Gaughan with her pony Magic.
The event was well-received, with favorable weather contributing to an enjoyable morning for all involved. A total of £280 was raised to support both World Horse Welfare and the Culrain Hall restoration fund, highlighting the community’s commitment to charitable causes and local heritage.
