The Ontario division of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (CTHS-Ontario) has been officially approved as a member of Ontario Racing, the province’s key horse racing industry organization. This new membership allows CTHS-Ontario to appoint a representative to Ontario Racing’s 11-person board, ensuring Thoroughbred breeders have a direct voice in shaping the future of the industry. Both Ontario Racing and CTHS leadership emphasized the critical role breeders play in sustaining and improving the health and prosperity of the Thoroughbred racing sector.

Ontario Racing oversees important functions such as breed improvement programs, race scheduling, purse setting, and industry promotion to attract owners and fans. The inclusion of CTHS-Ontario strengthens collaboration among stakeholders and highlights the breeders’ foundational contribution to the industry’s long-term growth and sustainability, supported by government and industry partners.
