Cadet Durigampudi Vijayalakshmi of Andhra Loyola College’s NCC 3(A) R&V Wing achieved national acclaim by being named the ‘Best Rider – Girls, Republic Day 2026’ at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. Excelling in the highly competitive equestrian events, she won a gold medal in show jumping, silver in the fault & out game, and bronze in dressage, securing the highest overall points among girl cadets across India. Her outstanding performance was officially recognized by the Directorate General of NCC and celebrated by dignitaries including Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Air Commodore Narasingh Sailani.
In addition to her equestrian success, Vijayalakshmi maintains strong academic performance and aspires to join the Defence Services by clearing the CDS examination, demonstrating her dedication to leadership and patriotism. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to her horse ‘Tara’ and trainer Babu Rao for their support, while her college principal, NCC officers, faculty, and peers congratulated her for bringing national recognition to Andhra Loyola College.
