Buetane, a $1.15 million son of Tiz the Law trained by Bob Baffert, will not compete in the Grade 3 Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park due to a canceled flight to Florida. Although cross-entered in the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn, his participation there also depends on flight availability. Buetane recently finished second in the San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita and is also nominated for the Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita alongside other Baffert trainees.
The Holy Bull Stakes, a key Kentucky Derby points race offering points to the top five finishers, now likely features a seven-horse field led by 2025 Street Sense winner Incredibolt, Gulfstream allowance winner Nearly, and Churchill Downs maiden winner Cannoneer. Additionally, Game For It, trained by Chad Summers, is expected to skip the Holy Bull in favor of the Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. This weekend’s races across multiple tracks continue to shape the Kentucky Derby and Oaks futures.
