Buckham Fair Returns in 2026 with Vintage Charm, Celebrity Guests, and Heavy Horse Festival

The Buckham Fair, a cherished vintage event in Beaminster organized by actor Martin Clunes, his wife Philippa, and a dedicated committee, is returning on August 2, 2026, after a break since 2019. Since its start in 2008, the fair has raised £600,000 for local charities and this year will support the Dorset County Hospital Emergency and Critical Care Appeal. Highlights include actor Neil Morrissey judging a dog show with a fun category for the “dog most like Neil Morrissey,” and the debut of the Festival of the Heavy Horse featuring breeds like Shires and Clydesdales, including Clunes’ own young Clydesdale, Patrick.

The event will also showcase popular attractions such as the Golden Retriever Display team, the “One Man and His Gun Dogs” obedience show, and various heavy horse demonstrations including Ladies Driven Carts. Educational opportunities will be available in the Dog Village and the new Heavy Horse World, where experts will share insights about the animals. Tickets are £20 in advance or £25 at the gate, with free parking provided, promising a day full of community spirit, vintage charm, and animal-focused entertainment.
