Buckham Fair, a beloved vintage event in Beaminster organized by Martin Clunes, his wife Philippa, and a committee, is set to return on August 2, 2026. The fair, which has raised £600,000 for local charities since its inception in 2008, will this year support the Dorset County Hospital Emergency and Critical Care Appeal. Highlights include a Festival of the Heavy Horse featuring Shires, Clydesdales, Suffolks, and Belgians, with Martin Clunes’ own young Clydesdale, Patrick, expected to be a crowd favorite. Neil Morrissey will also attend to help judge the dog show, which includes a fun category for the dog most like him.
The event promises a full day of entertainment with popular acts such as the Golden Retriever Display team, One Man and his Gun Dogs obedience demonstration, heavy horse displays, and ladies driven carts. Attendees can explore the Dog Village and Heavy Horse World, where experts will be available to share insights about their animals. Tickets are priced at £20 in advance and £25 on the day, with free parking provided. More details can be found at the official Buckham Fair website.
