The 2025 Brown County 4-H delegation, consisting of Leah Kucera, Mia Walter, Sydney Zarn, Kenedi Wersal, D’Lyla Todd, and Millie Lax, participated in the Minnesota 4-H State Horse Show held in Cannon Falls and Sauk Centre. Over 645 youth from across Minnesota competed in various events including hippology, horse judging, training, riding competitions, and leadership activities. The event fosters youth development by enhancing communication skills, deepening equine knowledge, and building relationships with mentors, contributing to their overall success.
Brown County members achieved notable results, with Leah Kucera placing second in the Key Race and Sydney Zarn fourth, while D’Lyla Todd secured ninth place in both Hunt Seat Pleasure and Western Horsemanship, and Mia Walter took ninth in Barrel races. Additionally, Kenedi Wersal and Millie Lax were honored with the Dan Patch Youth Leadership awards, recognizing their exceptional leadership within Minnesota 4-H.
