Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi Wins Bidding War to Bring Champion Mare Birdie Home

On September 30, Teton Ridge concluded their involvement in the western equine industry by dispersing their TR9 breeding program, which featured some of the top genetics in cutting and barrel racing. A highlight of the sale was Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi winning the bidding for “Birdie,” the 2011 mare Babe On The Chase, who had been a key competitor and broodmare in Tonozzi’s program. Birdie, a five-time National Finals rodeo qualifier with over $550,000 in earnings, had been owned by Teton Ridge for several years but is now returning to Tonozzi’s care to continue her legacy as a producer.

Birdie’s offspring have already made significant impacts, earning over $777,000 collectively, including standout futurity champions Tres Chasin Babe PZ and Seis On The Chase. Several of Birdie’s foals and embryos also sold at the dispersal, reflecting the high demand for these genetics. Tonozzi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring Birdie back to her program, where the mare will contribute to producing future champions and carrying on the influential Streakin Six Babe bloodline.
