Brenda McCarthy, a lifelong horse rider and owner of Green Wings Ranch in Los Alamos, is currently competing at the American Paint Horse Association World Show Championships in Fort Worth, Texas. She is participating in five events, including English Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure, and has already won world champion buckles in the amateur and intermediate Hunt Seat Equitation classes with her horse Chris, also known as “Ay Bay Bay.”

McCarthy purchased Chris three years ago from Erin Bradshaw, daughter of NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw. Despite a serious health scare last year when Chris nearly died from Salmonella poisoning, intensive veterinary care and training helped him make a full recovery. Now, the pair is successfully competing on an international stage, showcasing their resilience and dedication.
