Bradford County Farm Offers Therapeutic Horse Riding for People with Disabilities and Launches Fundraiser for Roof Repairs

A Bradford County farm, Rainbow Riders, offers therapeutic horseback riding to individuals with disabilities, helping them manage stress, build emotional bonds with horses, and improve social skills. Board president and instructor Caitlin Sullivan emphasizes the rewarding nature of serving these students, while participant Anistyn Walker, who has autism and apraxia, describes riding as a fun and mentally engaging experience.

The farm is currently fundraising to raise $12,000 to replace a deteriorating roof with metal roofing to protect hay from moisture, which can lead to mold, bacteria, and even barn fires. Sullivan highlights the importance of keeping the hay dry to prevent health issues in horses and reduce fire risks, encouraging donations via Venmo to support this critical maintenance.
