Boyd Martin Leads Advanced Division at Millbrook Horse Trials After Cross-Country

At the Millbrook Horse Trials Advanced division, Olympian Boyd Martin surged to the top of the leaderboard riding Bonnie Stedt’s Miss Lulu Herself, despite incurring 12.8 time faults on a challenging, hard ground cross-country course. Martin moved from eighth to first place with a score of 44.9 heading into the final show jumping phase. Katie Lichten secured second place with Hickstead Musterd, who improved from ninth after dressage, while Brooke Burchianti made a significant jump to third with Cooley Space Gray, posting the fastest cross-country time. Out of 19 starters, 11 horses advanced to show jumping, with several withdrawals and eliminations due to refusals and falls.

Martin praised the toughness of the course and highlighted Miss Lulu Herself’s strong performance, noting the horse’s recent success and plans for future events. He also reflected on his long-standing connection to the Millbrook community, which has supported his career since moving to the U.S. Meanwhile, Katie Lichten leads the Open Intermediate A division on Fast Company, and Savannah Fulton leads Open Intermediate B on Cash Point. The event will conclude with show jumping across divisions, accompanied by social activities and free general admission for spectators.
