The stable View Spring International began with fog that cleared into a beautiful day, featuring competitions across the 2/3/4 FEI divisions. In the CCI4-S dressage, Lucienne Bellissimo and Boyd Martin dominated early, with Bellissimo and Dyri finishing first on a score of 27.7, closely followed by Martin and Commando 3. Show jumping proved challenging, with only 34% of riders achieving double-clear rounds, but the top three after dressage maintained their positions going into cross-country. Bellissimo expressed satisfaction with her horses’ performances, while Martin viewed this event as a key preparation for the upcoming Kentucky competition.
Course designer Helen West crafted a cross-country track incorporating elements to prepare riders for Kentucky, including technical and influential questions such as the early MIM Oxer combination, the challenging GGT Water Complex, and the spectator-favorite Easter Academy Alp combination. These features demand precision, quick reactions, and strategic riding. Meanwhile, in the lower divisions, Alexandra Knowles leads the CCI2-S, and Zoe Crawford tops the CCI1-S after dressage. The event continues to showcase top-level competition and serves as a critical stepping stone for riders aiming for future international success.
