Boston Scientific’s Clonmel site has reached a significant milestone by donating over €1 million to more than 50 local charities and community organizations in the South-East, a result of employee-led fundraising efforts since the formation of their onsite Charity Committee in 2007. The funds have supported a wide range of causes including health and disability services, youth programs, emergency responders, and family support services, benefiting groups such as Clogheen Hospice, South Tipperary Mountain Rescue, and the CARE Cancer Support Centre. Fundraising activities have included diverse events like lip sync battles, Movember challenges, comedy nights, and annual draws, all driven by the dedication and creativity of the employees.
This achievement was celebrated with a special event at the site, highlighting the strong culture of giving and community support fostered by Boston Scientific’s team. James Herbert, Vice President of Operations, emphasized the pride and impact of the collective employee efforts, while charity partners expressed gratitude for the lasting difference the donations have made, such as enabling the CARE Cancer Support Centre to build treatment rooms still in use today. The Clonmel site looks forward to continuing this tradition of generosity and community engagement in the future.
