Book’em Danno secured his third career graded stakes victory, all at Saratoga Race Course, by winning the $400,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes (G2) on July 19. The New Jersey-bred four-year-old, trained by Derek S. Ryan and ridden by Paco Lopez, was the 1.40-1 favorite and defeated familiar rivals Mullikin and Nakatomi, replicating his earlier success over them in the True North Stakes (G3). Book’em Danno tracked the early pace before taking command near the finish, winning by 2 1/2 lengths and extending his unbeaten record at the six-furlong distance to four-for-four.
Owned by Atlantic Six Racing and bred by Gregory J. Kilka and Bright View Farm, Book’em Danno has now earned over $1.58 million with a record of 9-3-1 from 15 starts. Sired by Bucchero and out of the Ghostzapper mare Adorabella, the horse has thrived at Saratoga, also winning the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1) earlier in June 2024. His connections, including longtime partners who revived their racing interests in recent years, praise his consistency and versatility, noting his travels to major tracks and international venues as a testament to his quality and impact.
