The Bureau of Land Management in Wyoming is starting their 2025 adoption season with two events in April where untrained wild horses and burros will be available to qualified adopters for a minimum fee of $125. The first event will take place on April 19 at the Rock Springs Wild Horses Holding Facility, offering approximately 40 wild horses. The second event will be on April 26 at the Wheatland Off Range Corral, with up to 30 wild horses available for adoption or sale through a live competitive auction.
All of the wild horses and burros available for adoption at these events have been removed from overpopulated herds on Western public rangelands. Those interested in participating in the adoptions can find more information on all events and locations by visiting the Wild Horse & Burro Events page on blm.gov or by contacting the national information center at 866-468-7826 or [email protected].
To stay updated on future events and activities by the Bureau of Land Management in Wyoming, individuals can follow them on Facebook and X. These adoption events provide an opportunity for qualified adopters to give these wild horses and burros a new home while helping manage the population on public rangelands.
