Bit By Bit is a nonprofit organization providing therapeutic horseback riding sessions for children with disabilities, particularly benefiting those with speech delays, sensory challenges, and limited mobility. The therapy has shown remarkable results, such as helping a young boy named Kodiak improve his speech and communication, with the riding also offering vital physical stimulation that many children cannot achieve through other activities.
However, the program faces financial difficulties, costing $20,000 to $25,000 monthly to operate and relying heavily on grants and donations. Since the pandemic, donations have declined, putting the program at risk of shutting down unless it raises approximately $120,000. To garner support, Bit By Bit is seeking donations, volunteers, and greater public awareness, hosting an open house on Friday, August 8th, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. More information and donation options are available at bitbybitok.org.
