Bella Hadid, internationally known for her modeling career with brands like Prada and Dior, has a deep-rooted passion for horses that began in her childhood on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California. Influenced by her mother Yolanda’s love for horseback riding, Bella started riding at age three and pursued equestrian ambitions seriously, even training for the 2016 Rio Olympics. However, her equestrian dreams were derailed by a diagnosis of chronic Lyme disease in 2013, which has caused her significant health challenges including headaches, brain fog, and joint pain.
Despite these struggles, Bella has reconnected with horses as a source of healing and joy, purchasing her horse Blue in 2019 and embracing western riding after moving to Texas in 2023. Her relationship with professional equestrian Adan Banuelos and recent competition successes have brought renewed attention to her equestrian lifestyle. Bella’s story resonates with many horse enthusiasts, highlighting the emotional bonds and resilience involved in the sport, while also redefining the image of the “horse girl” with her determination and style.
